2024 Beast of the East

Beast of the East is well-known as not only the most challenging tournament on our schedule but also one of the most difficult in the country. This tournament attracts nationally ranked wrestlers from all over, making the competition the toughest our athletes will face during the school season. Participating is a privilege, and scoring points and winning matches are significant achievements, with advancing to day two being an even greater accomplishment.

First, we want to extend our congratulations to our entire varsity lineup for showing up and giving their best against some of the toughest competitors. Proudly, our team landed 45th out of 189 teams at the tournament. With a predominantly young roster, West managed to secure several victories, and many of our wrestlers had to battle through preliminaries to reach the championship brackets. Win of loss, everyone gave it their all, leaving it all on the mat. A special shoutout goes to Shaefer Hoffman and Chase Sigle for making it to Day 2.

We are incredibly proud of all our wrestlers for their hard work and commitment to our Varsity lineup.

2024 3rd Annual Girls Beast of the East

Beast of the East established a girls-only tournament three years ago, aiming to elevate it to the same level as the Boys Beast of the East tournament each year. They are making significant progress toward this goal. This year, the Girls tournament expanded to feature full brackets and two days of wrestling, showcasing girls from various states nationwide, including a strong lineup of nationally ranked competitors. This event allows our wrestlers to step beyond Pennsylvania's competition and challenge themselves against girls from across the country. West sent two representatives for the Whippets: Sienna Landrum, making her third appearance at Beast, and Sarah Pearson, who is debuting at the event.

Sienna Landrum, a senior went 4-1, secured her place on the podium and earned her first Beast of the East medal, finishing in 3rd place.

Sarah Pearson, a sophomore, holds a record of 1-2.

Way to go ladies!
