2025- PA SEPA District 1 Championships
/Downingtown Middle School concluded its wrestling season today at the PA-SEPA D1 Championships held at Quakertown High School, marking a significant achievement for the team and its individual wrestlers.
Among the highlights of the day, Madison Helms made history by claiming 1st place with an impressive 5-0 record, becoming SEPA’s first-ever female champion. Walker Hoffman also delivered a stellar performance, finishing in 1st place with a perfect 4-0 record.
The competition was fierce, with Dane Sigle securing a commendable 2nd place with a record of 3-1. Additionally, Brandon MacInnes and Joey Pearson both showcased their skills, earning 4th place with records of 6-2 and 5-2, respectively. Luke Anthony and Chase Chandler also made their mark, finishing with records of 4-2 and 3-2.
Several wrestlers displayed determination and grit, with Andrew Helms, Brayden Elingsworth, Brayden Schwanke, Connor McGeehan, and Zach Freiz each finishing with a record of 2-2. Trenton Waltman fought hard as well, concluding the day with a record of 1-2.
Congratulations to all of our placers! Achieving a spot on the SEPA podium is an impressive feat, and we are incredibly proud of every wrestler who stepped onto the mat. Your hard work, dedication, and willingness to push beyond your comfort zones are truly commendable.
As we look ahead, best of luck to those pursuing postseason qualifiers! We eagerly anticipate seeing everyone back on the mat this Spring for the Freestyle and Greco Season. Keep up the great work, and let’s continue to build on this success together!
