2024 Trojan Wars- MS
/DMS Lancers at the 2024 Trojan Wars
This weekend, we sent 23 of our Downingtown Middle School wrestlers to Chambersburg to join our Downingtown West Varsity and JV teams in the 3rd Annual Middle School Trojan Wars Tournament. We strongly believe that stepping beyond local competitions is crucial for the development of our wrestlers, and we are thrilled to provide our emerging athletes with the opportunity to compete at the prestigious Trojan Wars level. Additionally, this event serves as an excellent chance for team building and personal growth. We take pride in all our DMS wrestlers who dedicated extra time on the mat and committed their weekend to compete. Each experience contributes to making you a stronger and better wrestler.
Walker Hoffman, representing Downingtown finished 2nd in the championship round. He won his matches impressively: a 41-second fall against Jaxson Koons, another fall over John Casazza in one minute, and a major decision victory (15-2) against Cooper Boland in the quarterfinals. He continued with a 9-3 major decision win against Sawyer Cotto in the semifinals. Big things ahead at Trojan for Walker Hoffman!
Joseph Pearson achieved a commendable 2nd place finish. Pearson secured victories winning by fall against Emerson Bucks, Urijah Moser, Kellen Woodring, and Creu Canterbury, demonstrating impressive skills with falls in 1:30, 0:15, 0:47, and 0:54, respectively. Joey made an impressive run at his debut at Trojan Wars!
Brandon MacInnis, competing in the 130 weight class, finished in 6th place. Throughout the championship rounds, he secured victories by fall in the first four matches, defeating opponents Parker Watkins, Parker Reed, Robbie Farland, and Conner Moll.
