2025 Chester County High School JV Championship

On Monday, the Downingtown West wrestling team proudly sent 13 dedicated athletes to the mats at Downingtown East for the 2025 Chester County High School JV Championship, marking the conclusion of their season. This event was a testament to the commitment these wrestlers displayed throughout the year, demonstrating resilience and determination right up to the final match.

Among the standout performances we had three medalist from the event, Patrick Markey and Dom Wood both secured first-place finishes in their respective weight classes, showcasing their skill and preparation. Markey dominated the 114-pound category with a series of impressive victories, culminating in a decisive fall in the championship match. Similarly, Wood excelled at 172 pounds, overcoming his opponents with a combination of strategy and tenacity. Michael Landrum also had a commendable outing, finishing in second place in the 121-pound class after a series of hard-fought matches.

While not every wrestler may have finished with a medal, the team's collective effort and sportsmanship were evident, highlighting their growth and camaraderie as they wrapped up a successful season. We are proud of you Whippets, keep working hard, get that off season mat time and see your growth for next season.
